Residing in St. Kitts but born in Kingston, Jamaica, Byron Messia is bringing a new level of exposure to Trinibad—a subgenre of dancehall from Trinidad & Tobago that combines trap drums with more traditional dancehall riddims. His latest project No Love was released in January 2023 with features from dancehall artists like Prince Swanny, Jahshii, Govana, and Rytikal. Being hailed as the song of the summer, the album’s breakout hit “Talibans” currently has 41M views on YouTube and has reached # 1 on Apple Music in numerous countries across the Caribbean and diaspora.

Most recently, Byron Messia linked with Nigerian superstar Burna Boy for the acclaimed remix “Talibans II,” adding a new wave of momentum to the undeniable summer smash. The two artists go back-to-back, adding new flows to the track and appearing together in a brand new music video for the remix. And as Byron Messia continues to bring Trinibad music to the masses, he’s received co-signs from the likes of Dave, Chris Brown, Stefflon Don and Davido.
